In order to avoid a catastrophic trade war with the US, the EU must prioritise negotiation over confrontation.
That’s according to Midlands North West MEP Maria Walsh.
While thousands of jobs in Ireland’s pharmaceutical and agri-food and drinks sectors hang in the balance, MEP Walsh is urging the EU to avoid retaliation to President Donald Trump’s actions.
She says that the right approach is needed from the EU, and that the EU successfully avoided tariffs in 2018 and can do the same again in 2025.
