An investigation has been launched after parts of a walking route in County Mayo were “completely destroyed” in a fire over the weekend.
The Claggan Boardwalkat the Wild Nephin National Park in Ballycroy will be closed “until further notice”, according to the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
The service is reminding the public actions like discarding a cigarette or dumping barbecue coals can have “lasting and far-reaching consequences.”
Meanwhile, crews are continuing to deal with a separate fire at another area of the park at Letterkeen.
