Emergency Department at UHG extremely busy

554 admitted patients are on trolleys in hospitals this morning.

The INMO says 375 of those are in emergency departments, while 179 are in wards.

University Hospital Limerick accounts for the largest number of people waiting for beds, with 108, followed by University Hospital Galway with 41.

Elsewhere, in this region there are 38 patients on trolleys at Sligo University Hospital, ten at Mayo University Hospital and four at Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe.
