Ireland has become what analysts are describing as an “EV-first” market, with electric cars now outselling all other engine types among new vehicle registrations.
The latest figures show battery electric vehicles account for more than a quarter of all new cars being registered in the country.
Interest in electric vehicles is also continuing to grow, with searches for EVs on DoneDeal up almost 69 per cent compared to this time last year.
The figures suggest more Irish motorists are making the switch to electric, as demand for cleaner and more efficient vehicles continues to increase.
