€360,000 for community vehicles in Mayo

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht Dara Calleary has today announced €1.7 million for 32 community vehicles under the CLÁR programme.

These vehicles will be provided to community first responders, search and rescue groups, and meals on wheels services, and also to support in the assistance of people with reduced mobility and those accessing cancer care services.

Minister Calleary made the announcement this morning at a visit to St. Dympna’s Special Education School in Ballina, which will fund seven projects in Mayo.

St. Dympna’s has been allocated €80,959 to procure a hybrid vehicle to support inclusive school transport for pupils with special needs.

 

Funding has also been allocated to:

Western Care Belmullet – €72,000

O’Dwyer Cheshire Home Swinford – €61,875

St. Colman’s Care Achill – €43,000

Killala Community Council Meals on Wheels – €39,488

Kilmovee Community Housing Meals on Wheels – €34,502

Rehab Care Castlebar – €26,400
