€3.9 million has been allocated to Mayo County Council for Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and Disabled People.
This has been confirmed by Minister of State, Fine Gael’s Alan Dillon, who said that older people and those with disabilities in the county will be empowered to stay in their homes independently for longer, thanks to this funding.
The grant funding has increased by 26% for 2025, with an increase of over €600,000 from 2024 for Mayo alone.
Minister Dillon stated that the €3,939,919 “highlights the Government’s continued commitment to supporting older people and those with disabilities”.
