A new safety campaign has been launched, warning parents not to buy e-scooters for children under 16 this Christmas.
The initiative run by the Road Safety Authority and Children’s Health Ireland, follows a sharp rise in serious injuries linked to underage e-scooter use.
They’re now the leading cause of traumatic brain injury in children admitted to Temple Street Hospital.
The campaign highlights the dangers and reminds parents it’s illegal for under-16s to ride e-scooters on public roads.
