Regulations will be signed this afternoon to make it mandatory for hi-vis gear and helmets to be worn when riding an e-scooter.
Those new rules will take effect from Friday, with Ministers saying it’s up to the gardaà to enforce them.
Other rules to ban all under 18s from using e-scooters have been delayed until later in the year as they require EU approval.
