There’s been a 5% drop in the number of patients waiting over a year for hospital appointments.
New figures from the HSE for April show there’s also been a 12% reduction in the number of those waiting over 18 months, when compared to the same time last year.
However, there are more than 700,000 people still waiting for hospital appointments.
