Drop in amount of cash withdrawals

€30 billion was spent in contactless payments last year.

The Banking and Payments Federation Ireland’s payment monitor, shows over €1.6 billion was spent in shops, restaurants and other retail outlets using mobile phones payment methods alone.

Cash withdrawals fell by over 7% year on year to over 82 million euro.
