Driver testers working for the Road Safety Authority will go on strike a week from today.
It’s after talks broke down at the Workplace Relations Commission last night
The members of Fórsa will hold the industrial action next Friday the 20th of February.
Driver testers will down tools from 8.15am to 5.30 that evening over concerns about uninsured cars being presented for driving tests.
The union says the one day work stoppage follows the failure of talks at the Workplace Relations Commission yesterday.
Fórsa says the lack of a proper insurance verification system, combined with inadequate indemnity protections, has left staff exposed, and under pressure to proceed with tests.
