The significant increase in cancellations of appointments at Mayo University Hospital, is not acceptable according to Mayo Aontu deputy Paul Lawless.
The Castlebar hospital showed an increase of almost 42% (41.7%) in cancellations last year over the previous year. 915 appointments were cancelled at the hospital in 2023, while in 2024 the amount increased to 1,297.
Galway University Hospital saw an increase of 12%, while Portiuncla University Hospital’s cancellations increased by almost 10%.
