Crossmolina cemetery is to become the first in Mayo to have a Columbarium.
A columbarium is a wall in which urns can be placed within a graveyard.
The news has been welcomed by Councillor Michael Loftus, who says the need for such a facility shows the increase in the number of people opting to be cremated.
It’s part of a multi million euro commitment from Mayo County Council for graveyards in Mayo.
