Galway County Councillors this week received an update on moves to make Bridge Street in Dunmore safer.
There have been calls by locals for changes to the area due to safety concerns on the road which only allows for one direction of traffic at a time and is a busy section of the N83 between Tuam and Cloonfad.
It is proposed that the derelict buildings which run either side of Bridge Street should be demolished in order to widen the road.
