The traffic lights at the font in Ballina have caused serious congestion in the town in recent days.

Local Fianna Fail Councillor, Annie May Reape has confirmed that the installation of the new traffic controls at the Font in Ballina will be carried out tomorrow.

The existing lights experienced a fault over the weekend causing confusion at the junction.

However, Cllr. Reape has confirmed that the new traffic control system that she has been fighting for, for some time, will be installed tomorrow.

These lights will be modern and the same as the lights recently installed at Bunree which have made a huge positive difference to traffic delays in that area.

Cllr. Reape expects that the new lights will ease congestion at the Font and on the approach to the town.

She has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Michael D. McAndrew.
