Concerns over postponed social housing

Judicial review proceedings have been initiated against the Department of Housing over a postponed social housing project.

Last month Minister James Browne confirmed he was pausing the public private partnership which was due to deliver around 500 homes across Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and Sligo.

The Minister had raised concerns about value for money in the partnership.

At the Oireachtas Housing Committee, James Browne initially denied legal proceedings had been entered into by the private partners in the project – before getting an update from housing officials:
