A Sligo councillor has raised concerns over the changes to the regulations surrounding the Housing Aid for Older People Grant.
The change now means that older people can buy a second hand boiler for their home, which may not carry a guarantee, but they may not buy a brand new one.
Councilor Dara Mulvey raised this at a recent meeting of Sligo County Council.
He says many older people who may want to avail of the grant are not aware of this change.
