Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a two vehicle collision on the road from Swinford to Foxford.
The collision involved a car and a motorbike, and happened close to the BRB Homes site in Lagcurragh.
Midwest News understands that the road is closed and local diversions are being put in place.
It is not yet known if there were any injuries sustained.
Motorists are being advised to choose an alternative route.
This comes as over 20 supplies across the country are officially in drought status.
