Claremorris Historical Society will host a talk by historian Dr. Michael O’Connor on Wednesday 4 February at 8pm.
It will take place in the Town Hall Studio and is titled “Mayo County Prison & The Famine 1845-1852”.
A native of County Mayo, Dr. O’Connor is a lawyer, independent researcher, and author.
He is currently researching Irish and Anglo-Irish slaveholders in the former British Colonies in the Caribbean, Cape Colony, and the Indian Ocean at Queen’s University Belfast.
