Chief Superintendent called on to address Council meeting

A Crossmolina councillro has called for the Chief Superintendent to address the next monthly meeting of Mayo County Council on issues arising throughout the county.

It comes following the abolishment of the Joint Policing Committee in Mayo, which was last sat this time last year and was due to be replaced with a community local safety partnership.

These have not yet been set up in the county.

Councillor Michael Loftus says JPC meetings were used for councillors to raise policing concerns with the relevant members of an Garda Síochána.
