Mayo will once again host an Alzheimer’s Memory Walk this year as part of the nationwide event taking place on Sunday, 20th September 2026 ahead of World Alzheimer’s Day on 21st September 2026.
The event is supported by Aviva.
The event takes place at Castlebar’s Lough Lannagh, with walkers gathering at 12 noon for a 5km route.
In 2025, almost 3,000 walkers took part in the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk supported by Aviva, raising over €240,000 to help fund vital ASI services including Daycare, Family Carer Training, Social Clubs, Dementia Cafés and the National Helpline.
Local Champion Mary Rowland will lead the Mayo Memory Walk, walking in support of all those currently living with dementia.
