A South Mayo Councillor is calling for further supports for local community groups and tidy town committees.
Fianna Fail Councillor Damien Ryan has a motion down for the next council meeting where the local authority with the support of the Department of Housing and local Government would cover the insurance for those respective groups and organisations.
Cllr. Ryan says it’s an absolute must as those groups are doing a lot of the work that the local authority used to do as a reduction in staff.
