Airlines need to be encouraged to launch new services from regional airports around the country.
Fianna Fail’s aviation spokesperson Cathal Crowe says changing the criteria on take-off and landing slots at Dublin Airport can boost other airports, like Shannon, Cork and Knock.
Dublin Airport handles 86 per cent of passengers in and out of Ireland which Deputy Crowe feels is unsustainable.
He says slight changes can make a huge difference
