Conradh na Gaeilge has been pushing for a number of years for the fada to be included in all facilities.
It’s backing Sinn Fein’s call for legal protections to come in, to ensure people’s personal records spell their name with a fada.
It would mean companies and State agencies would have to use fadas to correctly spell Irish names and addresses.
Conradh na Gaeilge General Secretary Julian de Spáinn says it’s hard when airlines differ in approach to including fadas for names.
