Calls have been made for average speed cameras to be introduced on two busy stretches of road in Sligo.
Councillor Marie Casserly tabled the motion at the recent meeting of Sligo County Council, where she received support from her fellow councillors.
The motion called for the urgent installation of average speed cameras on both the N15 and N17.
Councillor Casserly says that numbers so far have proven that these average speed cameras do see drivers reduce their speed on the roads.
