A Sligo councillor has called on the Government to remove the VAT from sun cream products.
Fine Gael Councillor Dara Mulvey says 23% of the cost of a bottle of sun cream is VAT, as it is treated as a cosmetic product.
He has called for the removal of this, as sun cream is one method of skin cancer prevention, and a way to protect our skin.
