A Sligo councillor has called for additional traffic calming measures to be introduced along a stretch of road on the N17.
Fine Gael councillor Dara Mulvey says that works need to be carried out in the village of Ballinacarrow, for the safety of those living in the area.
He says that while many housing estates are located on one side of the road, the local national school and playground are located on the other side of the road.
Councillor Mulvey says that because it is not a high collision area, works will not be prioritised.
