Call for change to policing model

There is a call for a review of the Garda force’s policing model.

A survey from the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors found 98 per cent of its members want the current model to be stopped and reviewed.

The current system, which was introduced in 2019, aims to put more frontline officers on the streets to increase enforcement and visibility.
