Ballina to benefit from funding for disadvantaged areas

Public meeting in Ballina this evening in relation to next year's Christmas lights

Ballina is set to receive funding as part of an initiative to support urban areas with high concentration of disadvantage.

15 areas across the country are to receive funding of €5m in 2026 with capital funding of €31.5m secured up to 2030.

The programme, called SÍOL, is to focus on improving public spaces, supporting health and wellbeing, and access to training.
