Ballina will receive €150,000 under the Historic Towns Initiative.
This has been confirmed by Minister for Social Protection, Rural, Community Development and An Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary.
Projects on Walsh Street and Tone Street will benefit from the funding – as will the Jackie Clarke Collection.
Minister Calleary, a native of Ballina, said:
“This is a further investment in the historic buildings of our beautiful town.
“Congratulations to Mayo County Council on these successful applications and thank you to my colleagues Minister Christopher O’Sullivan and Minister James Browne for their support.”
