There are almost 90 people waiting on trolleys today at hospitals across the west.
The latest trolley watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) shows that there are 41 patients on trolleys at Galway University Hospital.
That’s the second highest in the country, behind University Hospital Limerick on 100.
At Sligo University Hospital there are 32 waiting on beds, 15 at Mayo University Hospital and one at Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Nationally, there are 407 people waiting for a bed on trolleys today.
