The air ambulance in Athlone has returned to its base following works on the hanger.
That’s according to Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane.
She confirmed the news following conversation with the Manager of Operations Support this morning.
Deputy Kerrane says the works took longer than expected and the Air Ambulance was delayed returning.
The majority of calls for the Air Ambulance she says come from County Roscommon and it is a critical part of the ambulance service in the county.
Additionally she says she will be seeking clarity from the Director of the Ambulance Service at their HQ tomorrow over reports of changes to the crew locally.
