Lidl Ireland Supplier Impact 01

Supermarket retailer Lidl procured more than €50 million worth of goods and services from 17 suppliers and business partners across Mayo last year, serving its five stores within the county which employ more than 100 team members. Lidl’s key Mayo suppliers include Carr and Sons Seafood which provides Lidl stores across the island of Ireland with premium smoked salmon products. Other key local beneficiaries include Western Brand Group Ltd and Cosmetic Creations Ltd.

Lidl supported 12 local charities in the county, donating over 28,000 meals through Food Cloud last year.  It supported more than a €716,000 donation to charity partner Family Carers Ireland, which provides assistance to local Mayo carers, and a €820,000 investment in the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) partnership, fostering community sports across the county.

Lidl Ireland is committed to supporting small and medium sized home-grown businesses through its industry-leading Kickstart Supplier Development Programme, supported by Bord Bia. In recent years the programme saw Mayo-based supplier Cabots of Westport join the Kickstart alumni, with their range of premium hummus products hitting the shelves in Lidl stores across the island of Ireland.

The local investment news comes as Lidl Ireland this week announced it has broken the €2 billion spend mark in procuring goods and services from Irish businesses in 2025 – an increase of €337 million (or 20%) on last year.
