The Taoiseach needs to immediately increase capital expenditure on infrastructure projects along the Western seaboard, according to Sinn Féin TD for Mayo, Rose Conway-Walsh.
The Sinn Féin spokesperson for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment raised the matter in the Dail saying “year on year spending targets for capital projects are missed. The Western Rail Corridor hasn’t been completed, there is no rail connectivity to Knock Ireland West Airport and the government has failed to increase grid infrastructure to harness the potential of renewable wind energy on the Western seaboard”, among other projects promised but not delivered on.
Deputy Conway Walsh told Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley that in light of the present international tariff uncertainties there is an urgency in delivering these projects locally now…
