Over 20,000 euro has been provided in funding, to improve some of the county’s outdoor swimming Facilities.
Lough Lannagh, Ballina outdoor pool, and two additional sites, are to benefit from the 22,000 euro purse announced yesterday.
The funding, which aims to grow accessibility, will provide for two shelters, two shower units, depth markers, railings and a number of outdoor swimming lockers.
Mayo Fine Gael Senator Mark Duffy has welcomed the news, saying improvements can only encourage locals and groups to make use of the facilities.
