165 people are waiting for a bed in hospitals across the province this morning, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch.
70 people are waiting on a trolley at Galway University Hospital, which is the second busiest in the country, and Sligo University Hospital is in third with 64.
30 people are waiting for a bed at Mayo University Hospital and one at Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Sligo has the busiest Emergency Department where there are 42 waiting, which is just ahead of the 41 in Galway.
91 patients are waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick, the most overcrowded in the country today.
Nationally, 514 people are waiting for a bed, with 314 of those in Emergency Departments.
