114 social housing units for Ballina

114 new homes across two social housing developments are planned for Ballina this year.

Mayo County Council  says it is working towards delivering new social and affordable homes across the county this year as part of its ongoing commitment to tackling housing needs in the county.

Currently it is working on site in schemes in Lois na Circa in Castlebar , Abbeyquarter in Ballyhaunis, four separate schemes in Ballinrobe and two schemes in Ballina,

Last year saw major housing developments opened at Bog Gate Demesne in Westport (50 units), Murrveagh Close in Mulranny (16 units) and the award winning nine home development in Carnacon. Further schemes completed by the year end included units in Cross West, Ballyvary, Church Manor Ballina and Lr Charles street in Castlebar.

Chief Executive of Mayo County Council, Kevin Kelly said: “Mayo County Council is committed to continue to deliver housing solutions for the people of the county and is motivated to deliver and exceed our targets.
