The North Western region has been assigned 10 new Gardaí following today’s attestation at the Garda College in Templemore.
149 new Gardaí were sworn into the force this morning, with 98 allocated to the Dublin region.
The Eastern region will receive 28 new officers, and 13 go to the Southern region.
This brings the strength of an Garda Síochána to 14,295 sworn officers.
A further 285 Garda recruits are currently undergoing the training programme at the Garda College.
The next intake of Garda recruits, intake 252, is scheduled to enter the Garda College on Monday next, March 10 with over 200 Garda Trainees.
