Government funding of 1.2 million euro has been announced for 21 Community Centres in Mayo.
Minister for Social Protection Dara Calleary says the funding under the 2024 Community Centre Investment Fund will be used to carry out building renovations and to enhance the amenities.

The Community Centres in Mayo to receive funding today are:
- Ballina Stephenites GAA Club; €100,000 To fund upgrades to the kitchen and to insulate the walls and ceiling €100,000
- Ballycastle Community Hall; €32,267 to fund the hall enhancement project
- Ballycroy Community Centre; €79,892 to fund upgrades including kitchen, flooring, plumbing and electrical works and replacement of stage
- Ballyheane Community Centre; €100,000 to fund an extension to the centre
- Mayo Cois Abhann (Hollymount) Development Association CLG Hollymount Community Centre To fund the upgrade of the hall floor, heating system and improvements to kitchen facilities €68,000
- Ionad Deirbhile Eachleim; €61,760 to fund the repairs to the roof
- Derradda Community Centre; €70,093 to fund upgrades including works to the kitchen, windows and doors, flooring and installation of solar panels
- Inishturk Community Club; €6,004 to fund new catering equipment and tiling of the kitchen
- Killala Community Centre; €100,000 to fund the installation of a new efficient gas heating system, a mechanical ventilation system and new floor
- Killeen Community Centre; €36,259 to fund the installation of a new roof and re-rendering the damaged gable end
- Kilmovee Community Centre; €73,323 to fund the refurbishment and upgrade, which will include repairing leaky roof, upgrade fire safety system and room layout changes
- Kilmurry Sport and Social Centre; €29,395 to fund improvments to energy efficiency, safety and improve the universal accessibility the centre
- Knockmore Rathduff Recreation & Community Resource Centre; €26,968 to fund the modification of the current heating system
- Moygownagh Community Centre; €100,000 to fund improvements to kitchen facilities and upgrade windows and doors
- Teach Greannaí Community Centre; €64,127 to fund upgrades of the plumbing, windows, doors, cooking equipment and energy upgrades
- Fr. Peyton Memorial Centre; €43,650 to fund the installation of energy and water efficient fixtures, new toilets, upgrade lighting and ventilation
- Tooreen Community Hall; €65,610 o fund the heating system replacement
- Ballina Community Sports Centre; €30,000 to fund the installation of solar panels
- Belmullet and Erris Community Centre; €82,867 to fund new lighting, air-conditioning and heating systems €82,867
- Killasser Community Centre CLG; €21,891 to fund the repair of the roof, install fire doors, windows, solar panels and upgrade stage lighting and stair access
- Carnacon Community Development Association; €70,000 to fund new external doors, re-sheet the roof and install new alarm system
