Roscommon footballer Shane McGinley has won the TG4 Goal of the Year award.
His sensational strike against Tyrone in last year’s All Ireland U20 semi final was one of 15 goals shortlisted for the award.
The Stokestown man’s three pointer topped the voting polls, beating tough opposition from Mayo’s Andrew Quinn of Mayo Gaels, whose goal against Armagh in the All Ireland minor semi final was nominated.
After a highly impressive U20 campaign last year, McGinley has earned a call up to the Roscommon senior panel.
Davy Burke’s men will begin their Division Two campaign at home to Down in King & Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park on Sunday January 26.
