Ballyhaunis will welcome home World Championship silver medalist Carlagh Peake later today.
The talented young boxer won silver at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Montanegro.
Both she and Westport’s Nell McLughlin had to overcome some serious obstacles in order to compete at the event, going under a neutral banner as a guest of IBA with no support from the Irish Athletic Boxing Association.
Her homecoming will take place at 4:30pm this afternoon at The Square, Ballyhaunis.
Later, the Octagon in Westport will host the homecoming for Nell McLaughlin.
