Following the Open Autumn trials at the National Sports Centre Abbotstown recently, the Irish Masters Athletics Association have published the teams selected to represent Ireland at the forthcoming British & Irish Masters Cross-Country Championships at Billy Neill Park Belfast on Saturday November 16.
Fiona Gettings, Longford AC and Michael Harty, East Cork AC, individual Masters winners of Jim McNamara perpetual trophies at Abbotstown will spearhead strong Masters Teams.
Mayo AC are very proud to have they four Mayo AC masters athletes in the Irish team. This continues a long tradition of club representation and success in this annual International championships over many years.
Congratulations to Pauline Moran W65, Mary Browne W65, Mags Glavey W70 and Paraic Sweeney M70! Pauline and Mags have represented Ireland in this competition on numerous occasions, while Paraic makes his second appearance, and newcomer Mary joins Pauline in the W65 team.
A number of other Connacht Region athletes are also among the teams: Michelle Lannon W50, Mari Johnston W55, Mark Davis and Seamus Somers M50, Eamonn Murphy M55, Martin McEvilly M75.
