Ballina Town FC have announced the appointment of Michael Duffy as the new manager of their Super League team.
Michael, better known as Mick, managed the Crossmolina AFC team this year.
Ballina Town finished third in the Elverys Sports Super League this season, a point behind Westport United in second and 11 behind champions Castlebar Celtic.
The team was managed at the start of the year by Fergal Forde, who had to step away in June due to personal reasons, which led to Trevor Nash coming in as interim manager alongside assistant Aidan Cowan.
Duffy comes into the role having a long association with Ballina Town as both a player and manager.
He previously guided the side to three Super Cups between 2017 and 2019, also landing a Super League crown in 2018.
In a club statement, chairman Simon Beale wished the new manager all the best in his new role:
“We are delighted to have Michael back at Ballina Town," he stated.
"We have wonderful memories from his time playing and managing previously.
“He has great experience built up as a coach and manager, and we look forward to seeing how the players respond to him.”
Mr. Beale also thanked Trevor Nash and Aidan Cowan for stepping in to help with first team affairs earlier this year through to the end of the Mayo Football League season, leading them to two cup finals and third place in the Super League table.
