Tubbercurry’s Liam Kerrigan has completed a one year loan deal move to the second tier of Belgian football.
The 24 year old joins SK Beveren from Como 1907.
Como, managed by World Cup winner Cesc Fabregas, play in Italy’s top flight ‘Serie A’ and won promotion from the second division last year.
Kerrigan has had a staggered career with Como, having scored in his senior debut in 2022 before suffering a cruciate ligament injury.
He spent the second half of last season on loan to Serie C side Novara.
The winger, whose journey to Italy brought him from Real Tubber to Sligo Rovers and on to UCD, will be under the management of Bob Peeters.
Peeters previously managed Charlton Athletic and played with Milwall.
He was part of the MIlwall squad that reached the FA Cup Final in 2004 where they lost to Manchester United.
The team was managed by player/ manager Dennis Wise, who now holds an administrative role with Como.
