A young Mayo athlete has won Ireland’s first ever javelin medal at the World Athletics Under 20 Championships.
Oisín Joyce secured bronze in Peru following an exciting final, in which he extended his own national U20 record to 74.89 meters.
The Ballinrobe native, who is a member of Lake District A.C., has claimed Ireland’s fifth ever medal at the World U20 games.
