Micheál Donoghue is set to become manager of the Galway senior hurlers for the second time.
He has been recommended by the county’s management committee for the role, following the departure of Henry Shefflin.
Donoghue finished up as Dublin manager at the end of this year’s All Ireland Hurling Championship.
During his first stint as Galway manager, the Tribesmen won the All Ireland title in 2017, and made the final again in 2018.
Donoghue is set to be appointed on a four year term at a meeting on Monday night.
