In handball, the World Wallball Championships enter the penultimate day, with several Mayo players in the shake-up for potential honours in their respective grades.
In Singles competitions, Cuileann Bourke of Belcarra, Niall Joyce of Claremorris and Ollie Cassidy of Swinford are through to World Championship semi-finals in Ladies A, Mens B and Mens Masters categories respectively, while Michael Lang and George Miller are through to the Golden Masters Plate and Emerald Masters Plate semi-finals.
In Doubles competitions, seven pairings will contest semi-finals today. They are:

* Cuileann Bourke & Armagh's Cailíosa Ní Dhúill in Ladies A
* Dessie Keegan & Ollie Cassidy in Masters
* Tom Sweeney & Galway's Keith Donnellan in Golden Masters
* Mark Heneghan & Galway's Ian Fogarty in Masters Plate
* Michael Corley & Michael Lang in Golden Masters Plate
and
* Shane Heraty & Chris Gavaghan in Mens B Plate

Everybody in the handball community wishes a speedy recovery to Team Ireland captain Caitriona Casey, who suffered a serious injury yesterday forcing her to withdraw. The popular Cork woman is one of the all-time top players in the sport of GAA Handball and her presence from the remainder of the World Championship will be missed.
