Funeral details have been announced for former Connacht Rugby player Rory Burke who has died at the age of 30.
Rory previously played for Munster where he made his competitive debut in 2017 and also represented Ireland at Under 20 level.
He joined Connacht from Nottingham where he made 30 appearances in two years, after coming up through the ranks at Cork Constitution.
Connacht Rugby said yesterday that they are all devastated at Rory’s untimely passing and described the loosehead prop as a “popular member of the dressing room amongst players and management alike.”
Rory is survived by his wife Sarah, his parents, extended family and wide circle of friends.
He will repose at the Temple Hill Funeral Home in Boreenmanna Road, county Cork this evening from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Rory’s Requiem Mass will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2:00pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Rochestown with the funeral afterwards to the Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy.
