Sligo Rovers are up to fourth in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
John Russell’s side overtook champions Shamrock Rovers and Galway United, who they beat last night at the Showgrounds.
Just scoring difference separates themselves and third place Waterford.
Rovers were 2-0 winners over Galway last night thanks to goals form Wilson Waweru, who came back to haunt his former club with a lovely volley, and debutant Luke Pearce.
Pearce joined this month on loan from Welsh side Cardiff.
The Bit O’Red have won their last four league games and go up against St Pat’s on Sunday next away from home.
Galway are away to Dundalk on Friday.
