The Galway senior footballers recorded a vital win this afternoon in their hopes for Division One survival.
Padraic Joyce’s side were seven point winners over Monaghan, and move out of the relegation zone.
The Tribesmen are fifth in the league, ahead of Tyrone, Roscommon and Monaghan.
Galway hit two first half goals through Cathal Sweeney on 26 minutes and Rory Cunningham five minutes later to earn a six point lead.
Monaghan reduced the gap to three, but this was only for a short while as John Maher hit goal number three in added time.
Galway continued to keep the score board ticking, with second half substitute Cillian Ó Curraoin hitting 0-5 in an impressive display.
Cunningham finished up as their top scorer with 1-3.
